I spent a few days visiting my parents and of course took the opportunity to shoot some sights I don't see as much here in Colorado. This harvested field was a couple of Miles from their house just outside Ann Arbor. I loved how yellow the field was and the lines in the sky and on the ground seemed to compliment each other nicely. Sadly, I just missed some really fantastic light.

Just standing there shooting for a few minutes got me covered in sweat. I do not miss that kind of weather!

Caught some good lightning from the porch last night. A powerful storm rolled through and I just set up the tripod on the covered porch taking shot after shot of 10-15 second exposures. I got three decent lightning captures and I think this is my favorite.

My son really impressed us by hiking up to over 13,000 Ft. here on Uncompahgre Peak in the San Juan range. We had great weather and a fun trip. I even got a little summer skiing in!

This panorama was made with 7 individual images stitched with Microsoft ICE, a free photo stitching tool.

These Balsamroot plants once provided food, first aid, and medicinal tea for natives.

I just love it when I find a big hillside of them like this.The Rokinon 8mm was just the tool for this job.

This is at the Swampy Pass trailhead on Ohio Pass.

It seems to be off and running now. I shot this from the new Lupine Trail near Crested Butte. Fun (short) trail and the flowers were over the top!

Hope your Independence day was a good one. We had a great time!

I would have liked some foreground interest in my fireworks shots, but I chose to hang out with my family instead so I just zoomed out the (not so interesting) foreground.
