It was fun watching the kayakers and rafters play on or get played by this hole. The SUP guys were also pretty impressive!

A big snowmelt this year made the Gunnison River Festival extra exciting!

The Solstice sun behind these silos caught my eye on the way home from a glorious and long after work ride at Hartman Rocks. I took three images handheld and blended them using HDRPad. Since it was handheld, I used the built-in alignment feature and it seemed to work very well!

I saw this riding to work this morning. The low angle sun filtering through the aspen and then the water from a sprinkler was just too perfect and I had to stop. So glad I did!

I had fun taking some star shots Friday night while camping with the family at Hartman Rocks. For this one I used the 8mm Rokinon fisheye which worked perfectly for a nice ultra wide shot. Fun lens, fun night. The meteor in the upper left was icing on the cake!

The light on the rocks was from the campfire and the sage was from a flashlight.

I had a short but enjoyable ride on my single speed (the one of my three bikes that didn't need work to ride) up to the Signal Peak area NE of town. Nice evening but a bit hazy - there must be a fire somewhere West of here. The little yellow flowers were coming up all over the place and I liked the color combination with this Indian paintbrush in the evening light.
The blown out sky is something I'm trying to accept for some shots. In this one I don't think it detracts much if at all. Do you?

I took a quick trip over to ride the White RIm trail in SE Utah near Moab. We had a great time, great weather, and it was an all-around great trip. Here I captured the sunset from our camp site along the trail called White Crack.

The puddles are interesting because they are typically dry and when it rains tiny shrimp appear in them which have been dormant as dry eggs since the last rain (it can be years sometimes).

This is a 3 exposure HDR created using HDRPad (which is free!). The lens was the fantastic Pentax DA15 Limited on my K-x.

These fish in Ouray seem to have a good life. They live in the Colorado mountains year round outside in a hot spring heated pond. I took this one with a new acquisition, a Pentax-M 100mm f/4 Macro that is a lot of fun to shoot with. This lens went out of production when I was in 7th grade.

I don't always think of a trailer park as an aesthetic subject of a photo, and maybe this one isn't really the subject but this has got to be the nicest trailer park photo I have ever taken!
We had a nice (but momentary) break in the nasty weather last night while I was passing by for this great sky over a run down mobile home.

The Pentax DA15 Limited is an ideal tool for capturing nice cloudscapes like this.
